The countdown to the end of the year and to the SAP conversion deadline is on. And with this in mind, a team from DMI joined fellow SAP experts, partners, and users at the final UK & Ireland SAP User Group (UKISUG) in-person event of 2023. Attracting a crowd of over 600 members and 70 SAP partners, there was a real buzz in the air at UKISUG Connect at the end of November, with discussions centered around all aspects of the SAP ecosystem. As gold sponsors of the three-day event in Birmingham, DMI’s stand was a hive of activity as our team shared insights into how companies can migrate to S/4HANA quicker, with less risk, more efficiently, and at less cost. Here’s our quick round-up of the three days.

Artificial Intelligence Dominating Discussions

Everyone’s talking about AI at the moment and UKISUG Connect was no exception. From the opportunities and risks of AI to the role of AI in CX, and unleashing the power of generative AI – the topic featured several times on the event agenda over the three days.

DMI is no stranger to AI as for quite some time now we have been using machine learning successfully in the technology behind our information management platform JiVS. It is an area that we have continued to research and develop over the years.

As we told the visitors on our stand, the development team at DMI is currently looking at the potential of additional AI algorithms to further increase the level of automation in our software in the future, as well as generative AI to enhance our customers’ productivity

JiVS and the SAP Migration Cockpit: the Quick and Cost-effective Way to SAP S/4HANA

Unsurprisingly, when you get hundreds of SAP users, partners, and customers together in one place, one of the main topics is inevitably the move to SAP S/4HANA. We had many discussions around the data migration process as it has now sunk in that doing nothing is no longer an option. Companies are gearing up to migrate to S/4 and we talked to lots of people about the alternative approach using JiVS. Our team explained the financial, operational, and environmental benefits of transferring data from all their legacy systems to JiVS, then only migrating the data that is really needed into S/4, and shutting down the old systems.

A reduced data volume – generally just 5 to 10% of the original volume – goes hand in hand with lower operating costs, lower energy consumption, and a smaller data footprint. The fact that JiVS is system-agnostic also makes it appealing to companies operating several legacy systems from different providers. During the many discussions, visitors were interested to hear how seamless integration with the SAP Migration Cockpit simplifies and speeds up the validation and loading of data into S/4, and how JiVS also enables continuous rightsizing….get lean, stay lean!!

DMI Creating a Buzz

Once again, our Formula One racing simulator created a real buzz, with many visitors wanting to test their driving skills against the machine and win an Apple Watch or Apple AirPods. This was a great chance for our team – Tobias Eberle, Chief Revenue Officer, Philip Carvalho, Regional Sales Director, and Diellore Halitaj, Marketing & HR Associate – to meet some new faces and catch up with some familiar ones. This year, DMI was a gold sponsor of UKISUG Connect and also donated tickets for a karting experience as part of the prize draw to raise money for the very worthy cause, Birmingham Mind.

If you weren’t able to catch up with us at UKISUG and hear first-hand how JiVS can make your SAP migration process quicker, simpler, and more cost effective, you can get in touch with our team here. We will show you how you can migrate just 5 to 10% of your data to SAP S/4HANA and retire all your legacy applications while maintaining access to your historical information and massively reducing your operating costs.
