The Digital Lounge@Lakeside came back with a bang! After a two-year break due to the global health pandemic, DMI’s executives and data migration experts were excited to host Digital Lounge 2022. Guests at the invitation-only, exclusive event were treated to stimulating discussions, keynote sessions, and roundtables. The beautiful, centuries-old Schloss Seeburg in Kreuzlingen was the perfect setting for discussing new and emerging ideas, concepts, and technologies. Not to mention the magnificent view it provided of the colorful fireworks display over the lake. Topped off by a visit from an Olympic cross country skier and a professional racing driver, DMI could not have hoped for a better way to celebrate the return of the much-awaited Digital Lounge.

An Unique Event for Innovative Minds

Every year, influencers, thought leaders, and executives from information and communications technology come together at the Digital Lounge, organized by DMI. And the 2022 edition was no exception, with more than 150 leaders and C-suite executives from high-profile companies such as Google, SAP, BMW, General Dynamics Land Systems, AMAG, IWC Watches, Holy Fashion/Strellson, ZF Friedrichshafen, IBM, and Stadler Rail. More than your average conferencing event, the Digital Lounge is where leading brands share experiences and learn from each other about how to innovate and transform their businesses. And it also provides great networking opportunities for connecting with innovative, like-minded peers.

Inspiring Speakers and Topics

Guests were not disappointed by the many insightful topics on this year’s program. Inspiring sessions and panel discussions included How to get to the intelligent and sustainable enterprise (Dr. Uwe Grigoleit, SAP), Digital transformation in uncertain times (Klaus Straub, CIO of the Decade), Google’s culture of innovation (Urs Schollenberger, Google), Heritage 2.0 and the future of data management (Michael Schneider, IWC), How AI can find the perfect fit between sustainability and profitability (Steffen Wittenauer, IBM), SAP S/4HANA, the core of your IT – 4 trends to observe (Stefan Dunsch, itesys), One Click Transformation – a game-changing approach for migrating to SAP S/4HANA (Tobias Eberle, DMI), and more.

Work, Rest, and … Play!

The two-day event was not all about business though. Many of the guests got the chance to try and outperform German professional racing driver Timo Glock on a racing simulator, while Jason Ruesch, member of the Swiss ski team and competitor at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, shared some of his top tips and tricks for keeping healthy and fit ahead of the upcoming winter sports season. Not to mention the aperitifs, cocktails, grill buffet, DJ, music, and dancing! Rounding off the event on the Saturday evening, all eyes gazed out at the annual “Fantastical” fireworks display over the backdrop of Lake Constance.

The DMI team received excellent feedback from all the attendees, with one guest commenting “You put together a great program and many participants told me that they were completely enthusiastic”. Plans are already underway for the next edition of the Digital Lounge to be held in Kreuzlingen in August 2023. It promises to be even more thought-provoking than this year’s event, focusing on the latest and emerging topics from the digital world.
