It’s that time of year again – UKISUG Connect is the biggest annual gathering of SAP professionals from the UK and Ireland, attracting SAP customers, experts, and partners from diverse industries and from across the SAP spectrum. Over three days in November, the conference for the UK & Ireland SAP User Group brought together around 400 attendees in Birmingham. Compared with a quieter event in 2021, visitor numbers were much higher at UKISUG Connect 2022 and – unsurprisingly – many of the discussions revolved around the conversion to SAP S/4HANA. On a lighter note, and getting everyone in the mood at the much-awaited SUGFest, DMI was on hand to mix things up at the JiVS-sponsored cocktail bar.

A Full Program and 70+ Exhibitors

As is to be expected of this kind of event, the organizers had put together a full program of pressing topics covering many aspects of the SAP ecosystem. As more and more companies are beginning to understand the importance of data transformation and migration as part of the S/4HANA conversion, a number of the sessions on the program focused on data-related topics as well as accelerating the move to the new environment. Representing DMI at the three-day event was Philip Carvalho, Regional Director, DMI UK, who made the most of the opportunity to network and engage with prospects and partners on the hot topic of data migration, raising further awareness of the JiVS platform within the SAP community.

JiVS: One Single Platform for Application Retirement and Data Transformation

Interestingly, what resonated in particular among the many people Philip spoke with was the fact that with JiVS they only need to deploy one single platform for all their data migration needs. After learning that legacy systems, both SAP and non-SAP can be shut off completely, they immediately recognized the value of JiVS, with the knowledge that all historical information is stored together securely on an external Information Management Platform. Instead of working with one provider for application retirement and another for data transformation, JiVS does it all – which made it stand out as a very unique offering for companies making the move to SAP S/4HANA or any other target system.

Mixing Things Up at SUGFest

Many years of experience have been incorporated in the development of the JiVS platform, which “mixes things up” in the sense that it offers companies a different approach for managing all their data migration needs in one place. While we’re on the subject of mixing… after a full day of intensive SAP keynote talks and break-out sessions on day two of the conference, the attendees were more than happy to spend the evening at SUGFest, enjoying music entertainment and sampling concoctions at the cocktail bar sponsored by JiVS. A sounding success, the cocktail bar transformed into a vibrant networking hub for fellow SAP professionals – which they agreed was a great way to round off an extremely busy and productive day.

UKISUG Connect 2022 is the last UK-based industry event of the year for DMI. You can learn more about data migration with JiVS here or contact Philip Carvalho directly to find out how JiVS can accelerate your SAP S/4HANA conversion.
