The 2023 DSAG Annual Congress took us north to the German city of Bremen, where over 5,000 representatives from DSAG member companies and 175 SAP partners, all from the DACH region, came together over the three days. Under this year’s motto “Wonderfully Changeable: Creating New Perspectives Together”, the focus was on collaborating to successfully master change. On the first day of the event, DSAG Chairman, Jens Hungerhausen, commented “This year, we’re bridging the gap and asking how companies, DSAG, SAP, and the entire ecosystem can actively shape change together”.

Against this background and theme, the annual congress was the perfect opportunity for DMI to show how JiVS is helping to shape digital, technological, ecological, and economic change by accelerating and simplifying the move to S/4.

No Company Will Be Left Behind

Besides the obvious hot topic of migrating to S/4, many discussions were centered around the limitations of an on-premise versus a cloud-based S/4HANA solution. SAP CEO, Christian Klein, took to the stage and spoke about the cloud’s role as a pioneer for new technologies and innovations. While he confirmed that certain strategic innovations such as AI will remain limited to the cloud and will not be available for on-premise, he also reassured the DSAG members that “No company will be left behind” and SAP will continue to invest in functions and features for on-premise customers.”

Making New Connections

As always, the DSAG Annual Congress was the perfect chance for us at DMI to catch up with so many customers, partners, and SAP executives all in one place.

But it was also an ideal opportunity to make new connections and demonstrate the operational and cost benefits of the JiVS One Click Transformation approach to companies that are planning to migrate to S/4. Among the potential customers we spoke with, their main priority is how to complete the migration in the fastest, easiest, and most cost-effective way, and they were not disappointed when they discovered how JiVS can help them achieve this.

The DMI team – Tobias Eberle, Eva Heinze, Gerd Klask, Benjamin Kaulich, and Diellore Halitaj – also explained to visitors at the DMI booth how the JiVS Information Management Platform simplifies the transformation to an agile and intelligent enterprise in numerous other scenarios, including application retirement, rightsizing, or mergers and acquisitions.

We were also able to make new connections at the evening networking event on day two in a more casual environment – where we also got to enjoy great music and great food!

Focus on Speed

With the end date for regular SAP ECC system support getting ever closer, speed is of the essence if companies are to successfully migrate to S/4 by the end of 2027. The steady stream of visitors to the DMI booth at Messe Bremen learned how JiVS accelerates the conversion to S/4 – with one customer, Hawle AG, completing their migration in just three months with the support of DMI’s experts. On the subject of speed, the F1 Racing Simulator once again attracted crowds to the DMI booth, as high-speed enthusiasts put their driving skills to the test and raced against the clock to compete for prizes.

The Need for Strong Partners

Earlier in the year, DSAG Chairman, Jens Hungerhausen said “2027 still sounds a long way off. Nevertheless, the effort involved in such a migration should not be underestimated. Here, companies need strong partners with sufficient resources at their side”. Mastering change and facilitating the conversion to SAP S/4HANA can be achieved more easily, quickly, and cost-effectively through collaboration in the SAP ecosystem between user companies, SAP, and partners like DMI. Our data migration specialists are gearing up for the wave of S/4 conversion projects that are on the horizon. Events such as the DSAG Annual Congress are a great occasion for us to reach out to new companies and show how we can drive forward their digital transformation to a composable enterprise.
